Seven Steps for setting and Achieving your Goals

Seven Steps for Setting and Achieving your Goals

The number one reason some people get more work done faster is because they are absolutely clear about their goals and objectives and they don't deviate from them.

A major reason for procrastination and lack of motivation is vagueness, confusion, and fussy mindedness.

There's a powerful formula for setting and Achieving goals that you can use for the rest of your life.

Step 1: Decide exactly what you want. It's amazing how many people are working away, day after day, on low- value tasks because they've not decided what they want.

Step 2: Write it down. Think on paper. When you write down your goal, you crystallize it and give it tangible form. Unwritten goals lead to confusion, vagueness, misdirection and numerous mistakes.

Step 3: Set a deadline with your goal. A goal or decision without a deadline has no urgency. It has no real beginning or end. Without a definite, you will naturally procrastinate and get little done..

Step 4: Make a list of everything you can think of that you are going to have to do to achieve your goal. As you think of new activities, add them to your list. Keep building your list until it is complete.

Step 5:  Organize your list into a plan.
Organize your list by priority and sequence. Take a few minutes to decide what you need to do first and what you can do later

Step 6: Take action on your plan immediately. An average plan vigorously executed is far better than a brilliant plan on which nothing is done.

Step 7: Resolve to do everything single day that moves you toward your major goal.
Read a specific number of pages on a key subject. Call on specific number of prospects or customers. Learn a certain number of new words in a foreign language. Never miss a day. Keep pushing forward.
Once you start moving, keep moving. Don't stop

Clear written goals have a wonderful effect on your thinking. They motivate you and galvanize you into action..

Life like a tree

Life is like a tree, yes as corny as it may sound it's the truth. Life is constantly changing, just like a tree changes in every season. We too have our own season and we change,we grow and we transform into a new life during each of those seasons.

But, when the new season occurs are you growing like you're supposed to be growing or are you holding yourself back?  I can tell you that your life is not guaranteed tomorrow or within the next hour, don't miss out on your growth period, don't miss out on your new season. I'm still in the process of growing, but I know what it takes so I am willing to learn.

There are many steps to growth, it doesn't happen overnight, unfortunately, but that's okay. A tree doesn't grow overnight. The first step to growth is setting goals for yourself and determining whether or not they are achievable. This is like you're planting the tree. The second step is establishing when you want to start putting those goals into actions. This is like the roots receiving the nourishment from the soil. The third step is following through and making every necessary change in order to grow. This is when the bark or the foot of the tree begins to sprout. The final step is spreading the growth within your circle and in your daily tasks and activities. This is a prime example of when the leaves, flower, or fruit begin to grow on the tree. Think of your growth as an evergreen tree, it never dies.

In your process of growth, you need to remove ALL and I mean ALL of the negative things that are blocking you from moving forward. Some people will be hurt, some people will throw shade but remember this growth process is about you and for you. Throughout this process, you need to continue to check up on yourself and making sure you are taking the right steps that will lead you to the correct path. Keep a journal or diary, or start a blog if you haven't done so already. If this process becomes tough, that's okay, take a break but don't lose sight of the trophy.

I want you to take the time out and think to yourself, am I growing? Am I at the place where I want to be right now? Am I happy? If the answer was no to any of those questions, then take this time out to do something about it. CHANGE starts with you, my friend. Take that initial step. That initial step can be anything. It could be deleting people off of social media, deleting numbers out of your contact. It can be putting an end to that relationship that was bringing you down. It can simply be starting a new hobby. It can be planning out your day or year.

Have a focus word for this week and make it your mission to follow through.
My two focus words are: GROWTH & Positive

The Power of Attitude

There is nothing as powerful as attitude. Attitude dictates your response to the present and determines the quality of your future. You are your attitude, and your attitude is you. If you do not control your attitude, it will control you.

Attitude creates your world and designs your destiny. It determines your success or failure in any venture in life. More opportunities have been lost, withheld, and forfeited because of attitude than from any other cause. Attitude is a more powerful distinction in life than beauty, power, title, or social status. It is more important than wealth and it can keep one poor. It is the servant that can open the doors of life or close the gates of possibility. It can make beauty ugly and homeliness attractive. The distinguishing factor between a leader and a follower is attitude.

Attitude Creates Your World And Designs Your Destiny.

What is attitude? We will discuss this topic in detail in coming chapters, but for now let me simply define attitude as "the mind-set or mental conditioning that determines our interpretation of and response to our environments." It's our way of thinking. It is also important to understand that attitude is a natural product of the integration of our self-worth, self-concepts, self-esteem, and sense of value or significance. In essence, your attitude is the manifestation of who you think you are. Leaders think differently about themselves, and this distinguishes them from followers.

The story of the lion and the sheep demonstrates the power of attitude. We live our attitudes and our attitudes create our lives. The difference between the attitudes of a lion and a sheep determines their place in the scheme of the animal kingdom. Perhaps that is why the Creator, as recorded in the books of the Hebrew writer Moses and other biblical writers, identifies himself with the unique temperaments or natures of certain animals.

We live our lives based on who we think we are. According to the illustration, if you believe in your heart that you are a sheep, then you will stay in the confines that others have placed you in or that you have made for yourself. If you think that you are a lion, then you will venture beyond manmade limitations and embark on the life of #leadership that you were born to live. You will develop into someone who inspires and influences others within your inherent domain.

No amount of training in #leadership skills, courses in management methods, power titles, promotions, or associations can substitute for the right attitudes. I am convinced that all the money in the world may make you rich, but it can never make you a leader. Your #leadership development is determined by your perceptions of who you are and why you exist in other words, your sense of significance to life.

Encouraging life verses for Marriage by Jennifer

Life verses are passages of scripture found in the Bible that capture our attention and feed our soul. They are so comforting, they almost seem tangible. God’s Words are powerful!

The Bible is a manual for life. It is full of hope and wisdom that we can glean from. I have experienced the power of God’s Word, how it can transform my perspectives, my character, and my heart. The Bible has changed my life for the better!

Life verses are the scriptures that are life changing. They are the ones you want to memorize because they give peace, strength and confidence. Life verses are the very Word’s of God that mean something very personal to you.

My church shared a sermon series on life verses that inspired me to write this encouraging article for you. We had the privilege of hearing from different pastors on how they cling to their life verses! Each one explained how God used specific scriptures to carry them through difficult times or how God’s Word ministered to their spirit just when they needed it. Each one was incredibly inspiring to me in different areas of life including marriage and parenting.

I felt called to share with you a few particular life verses for marriage that I hope will empower you in your relationship with your spouse. May you find hope for your marriage and find strength to carry on even through the tough seasons.

1. “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” – 1 Peter 4:8
This is a great life verse for marriage because marriage is a union of two sinners. There will be times that you and your husband will fail each other, mess up, do something hurtful, and times that you will sin. It is important to remember God’s definition of love and how loving each other deeply can cover those sins and help you reconcile. Knowing this verse will remind you of the power of love!

2. “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:12
My husband proposed with a ring that had this life verse inscribed on the inside. This verse is incredibly meaningful to both of us. Understanding that two are better than one, but that two with God is even stronger has saved our marriage multiple times! The three cords represent a husband, a wife, and God. As the three form a close relationship with each other they cannot be quickly broken. Oh how so many marriages would benefit from clinging to this verse!

3. “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” – Ephesians 4:2-3
This life verse is an obviously great reminder for marriage. If a husband and wife are humble, gentle, patient, and selfless, eager to keep the peace in their relationship, there would be a lot less fighting in the world. This verse reminds us to remain calm and do as Jesus would do. Please let these words sink deep into your heart and live it out in your marriage.

4. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” –
Jeremiah 29:11
I have seen this life verse written out on journals, home decor and more. It is highlighted because it reveals the heart of God towards humanity. These words fill our hearts will hope and faithfulness. Sometimes we want to know all the plans God has for us, but I don’t think we would be able to handle knowing all that He has for us in the future. He is strengthening us each day. This verse helps me to trust in God and trust in His timing and His plans for my future.

5. “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” – Mark 10:9
When I married my best friend, we entered into marriage believing divorce would never be an option. Years later came hardships and trials that threatened our relationship and wore us down to the point of pondering divorce. If it wasn’t for verses such as this, who knows where we would be today. God’s Word saved our marriage and it can save yours too! You and your husband have been joined together. Don’t let anyone or anything separate your love for each other.
Write these verses on your heart! Memorize and meditate on them daily! In your marriage relationship, talk to each other about these verses often, and encourage each other to trust in these words, while living them out!

Planted to Flourish

PLANTED TO FLOURISH

Blessed be the name of Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, the giver of life and the quintessential planter of our destiny, love and a proficient future. Like a tree planted by the riverside, every human ought to flourish, exude flamboyance and enjoy the goodies of life but unfortunately some prefer to snatch fruits from the tree instead of live in the fullness of God's promise.

The beauty of God's glory is revealed through the manifestation of our handiwork and performance when we're planted by the riverside, we effortlessly flourish and live a life worthy of admiration and this causes voyeurs from other shores to want to know our source of exploitation. When you're in God's primary location for your destiny, i promise you'll never struggle although the breakthrough might take a season but you'll never lack the basic necessities of life.

Inside every believer is the rivers of living water, hence we germinate and progress from the rivulet sterns of life. The fruits of a flourishing life includes the supply and abundance of prominence in all it's diversity, you become an ambassador of healthy living, your self-confidence is elevated and you will continually serve as a blessing unto your generation.

Meanwhile, once you're detached from the source (Jesus Christ) you'll impecunously wither like a fallen leaf and fizzle into oblivion. This inevitably leads to depression, suppression, desperation and frustration, fear and anxiety and other nefarious tendencies. Bitterly, you'll be robbed of any form of fruitful entitlement, a defenestrated life isn't worth living, come to the source.

If you want to enjoy the goodness and prosperity of the tree you must know the planter, the kings of Heaven. Stop stealing fruits when you can wholly become a partaker and get planted, the greatest gift anyman can be granted is access. Come to the river and be planted, quit living a life of limitation and enjoy a life of spiritual liberation.
